We will start our Christmas Prayer Friend on Monday 28th Nov. The idea is based on Secret Santa where all names are put into a box and everyone picks a ticket with a name on it. This person is your Prayer Friend so at every assembly and during morning prayers you will pray for your friend.
Before Friday 16th Dec, each child brings in a small gift wrapped and the name of their Prayer Friend on it. The value of the gift is about £5 and these will all be given out at the Christmas raffle on Wednesday 21st Dec. The reasoning behind this idea is that a child buys only one gift and not gifts for a number of their friends as happened before now.
It will also remind everyone the religious importance of Christmas which can often be forgotten in the hype. The gift of prayers may be the best gift of all.
