The Irish News Young News Readers media project will start this week. This project has been developed by the Irish News team and St Mary's Teacher Training College, Belfast. The aim of the project is to enable pupils to develop a range of thinking skills and learning through the process of critical reading.
The project will run for 8 weeks up to May 10th. A special newspaper will be printed each week and the school has registered for 15 copies. A host of learning activities will be included to challenge our pupils to read for understanding, encourage pupils to evaluate content and the importance of trusted news stories versus social media.
